Memorial Day Weekend

I hope everyone has a great weekend this week even though the weather is less than stellar (at least out here on the left(ist) coast).I would ask just one thing of all my friends, family and acquaintances:

Take a moment to remember what the holiday is actually about and give thanks to the many brave souls who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that you and I can remain free!

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below..
